What have you been most satisfied with?
That I have felt so confident and that I have been able to rely on Thomas. It was a big thing for me to find a property in a different country with different rules, a different culture and a different language. For me it was important to find someone who could help me with all of my questions. And there were so many questions, a lot more than if I had bought something at home in Sweden. Amazingly enough Thomas was able to both sell to me and at the same time help me with all my queries, he was incredible at distinguishing between those two things. He never tried to force me into buying anything. On the contrary, it surprised me that he let me and the sellers have our own space and time to agree to the price.

Because Thomas is all you need if you want to buy a property in Italy. He is kind, knowledgeable, reliable, honest, helpful, makes time for you and offers the opportunity for continued contact afterwards.
Is there anything else you would like to add, any small anecdote you experienced during the buying process, etc?
Perhaps that the apartment I bought, I was not at all interested in after looking at the photos and after reading about it on the Internet. It was Thomas who insisted that we should take a look at it after I had described what I was looking for. It shows that he has good feeling for this sort of thing.

– In all sorts of ways, from helping us find and purchase this lovely house to helping us with all kinds of issues large and small. There are so many small things that need to be fixed, which may seem hopeless if you don’t know the language well and know how things work. Without Thomas we would not have managed. He has been and is absolutely fantastic.
What have you been most satisfied with?
– Thomas as a person! A genuinely serious, warm and caring person who is always there, always available when you need him the most. If he cannot solve a problem himself, he has an infinite amount of contacts that he can recommend – all reliable and skilled.

– Because he is who he says he is, reliable and serious. Throughout the entire purchase process, he was a support, a rock upon which we could stand whom we never doubted. Quite simply, we never felt doubtful, that we could ever be deceived by anyone involved.
Is there anything else you would like to add, any small anecdote you experienced during the buying process, etc?
– Yes, several. For example, when the notary read up everything in the contract, in Italian … which we then had to sign. When we had to arrange for the gas and water contracts, garbage collection, electricity, an Italian bank account and the direct debits. We could not have managed any of this ourselves. And Thomas continues to help us when we have problems with the bureaucracy and the language. Absolutely invaluable.

We bought our apartment in the autumn of 2010 and we felt really confident about having Thomas, a Swedish speaking estate agent. We had a property that needed renovation that Thomas helped us with so we could switch to a more modern apartment in Carpasio in 2008. Unlike when we purchased the property which had to be renovated, where no estate agent was involved, we now felt more secure.
What have you been most satisfied with?
The fantastic way in which he took care of us. His professional knowledge of laws and regulations. His help with phone calls to the municipality etc., when we had to change or ask something. When the property tax is changed, an email will be received regarding the regulations. Thomas has contacts if you need other assistance.
Why would you recommend others to contact Thomas and Agenzia Immobiliare IBIS?
It is pretty complicated bureaucracy and a different culture, so if you are not 100% fluent in Italian, you will need help. With Thomas you get the best service around!
Is there anything else you would like to add, any small anecdote you experienced during the buying process, etc?
We parked in the wrong place once in Arma di Taggia and the car was towed away. In desperation, we called Thomas. Immediately he made a few calls, drove us to the municipality’s offices, helped us to pay the fine and finally took us to the place where the tow truck had taken the car where we were able to pick up our vehicle. It would have taken us days, but thanks to Thomas it only took an hour or so. And let’s not forget all the nice chats we had when we visited his office!
